True Wireless Explained

Wireless accessories consist of items that don’t require a physical cable connection for interacting with a media source. They use Bluetooth or other alternative ways to establish a wireless connection. However, they are not truly wireless. They still rely on physical cables to function. Some headphones, for instance, have a wired connection between two electroacoustic transducers, and each ear is connected by a band.

3 Common Wireless Technologies

1: Bluetooth

2: Infrared

3: Radio Frequency

It’s a type of wireless communication that travels across a wide range of Spectrum starting from 30 Hz to 300 GHz. The headphones that use RF technology have a greater range extending up to 300 feet.

How Do True Wireless Earbuds Work?

Now that you know all the basics of how True Wireless offers a better audio experience and removes bulky cables from the picture, the question is, how does it work?

True Wireless earbuds have Qualcomm microchips that create a connection between the audio playback device and media source. True Wireless device connects to the media source, which could be your smartphone, TV, or PC through a Bluetooth connection.

Currently, there are two generations of True Wireless technology. The first one is True Wireless and the second one is True Wireless Plus.

True Wireless (First Generation)

The primary connection receives L and R channel information using device one and then L channel is forwarded through the secondary connection to the secondary device.

True Wireless Plus (Second Generation)

This technology creates a connection between both earbuds first, allowing the media source to create a connection to both earbuds at the same time. This lifts strain on one earbud hence extending battery life and improving the strength of the connection.
