What Is Verizon Router Yellow Light?

Most routers come with indicators that allow users to determine the status of their internet connections. In the wake of a connection loss, it is advisable to check the lights on your router. The yellow light indicates that your internet connection is slow or not working at all.

You are bound to encounter poor connection at some. Instead of going all mad about the connection, try to identify the issue. The good news is that you can fix slow internet speeds or poor connections in several ways. Before discussing the actual remedy, let’s identify ways to get the right ISP.

How to Fix It on Verizon

You’ll be glad to know that there are multiple ways to fix the Verizon router yellow light issue. Let’s explore them all one by one.

Restart the Router

Restarting the router is, perhaps, the oldest way when it comes to fixing the internet. Before you restart the device, check whether it’s running hot. Internet equipment, or any device for that matter, can work for extended periods. That doesn’t mean they don’t feel the heat. Press the power button on the back of your router. Wait for several seconds before turning it on.

Pay Your Bill

Late payments or unpaid bills may cause your internet service provider to reduce your connection speed or terminate the service altogether. You can pay your internet bill using the Verizon pay bill service. Access your account using the provider’s website or their app. Check if you have any pending payments against your account.

Reset the Device

If the first two methods don’t work, try this one. Reset the device to fix internet connectivity issues. Rebooting the router reverts the device to factory settings. Locate the reset button on the back of your router. Press and hold down until the router turns off. The device will restart automatically after several seconds. Please note that you’ll have to enter new credentials to connect your devices to Wifi.

Fix the Cables

Broken wires and damaged cables can cause your router to slow down. Make sure to unplug all the wires and check for potential broken spots. Replace damaged wires with new ones.

Get a New Router

If you are unable to fix the issue using the abovementioned methods, chances are your router is old. If that’s the case then you should get a new router. Purchasing a new router will eliminate all the hassles that come with old devices as well as equipment rental. Make sure that your router is compatible with your service provider.

Call Your Service Provider

Reach out to your service provider in case none of the above-mentioned methods works. Call their customer center and inform them about the issue. Not only will they see to the concern but will also tell you about how you can benefit from new offers and promotions.

Lesson: Choose Your Internet Service & Equipment Wisely

Tech advancements have created dozens of options for users to choose from. Long gone are the days when a single player dominated the market. Today, there are countless options when it comes to internet solutions. That said, here’s your guide to finding the right deal for your home internet:

Compare Internet Speeds

When you shop around for the internet, compare the speeds of different companies. Most ISPs offer ultrafast internet speeds. In case you’re a streamer or a content creator, you’ll need a provider that offers high upload speeds. You can narrow down your options using the download vs upload speed formula.

Know Your Internet Requirements

Internet requirements differ by users. Casual web surfers usually have different internet requirements compared to hardcore gamers and content creators. Also, know how many devices in your house use the internet.

Check for Local Availability

The second step in choosing an ISP is to check out the local options. You might have figured out the type of internet connection you want for your home. However, you may not always get the service your need. Before shopping around for the internet, scour the web for your local internet service providers. Enter your zip code on Google to check which service is available in your area.

Sift Through Pricing Plans

Compare pricing plans of different internet companies. Many providers deliver high-speed internet at competitive rates. Make sure to talk to the service provider about annual contracts, data caps, termination fees, as well as equipment rental. Better yet, you can check out the best home internet deals and learn what’s in it for you.
