Credited as one of the pioneers of video streaming technology, Netflix enjoyed annual revenues of more than $20 billion in 2019! As one of the most popular streaming platforms worldwide, the company has a subscription from nearly 150 million people! It is home to popular content that covers TV series, web series, movies, documentaries, dramas, and much more! Netflix also provides space to production houses. They produce exclusive and original content for Netflix. Netflix Exclusive content enjoys a huge fan following globally.

In order to enjoy the amazing shows running on the platform, it is important to have stable internet and media displaying devices such as phones or TVs. For HD shows, internet connections with higher bandwidths do a better job.

At times, you may be connected to the internet but Netflix may not be accessible. Additionally, it may display a message stating that the internet is not connected. Continue reading below to find out how to fix this problem and watch your shows without any interruption or issues!

Netflix is Not Working on Cox

At times, even when you are the subscriber of a heavy bandwidth package like the Cox Gigablast, Netflix may display the “internet not working” error! And this may happen even when the rest of your internet activities are working just fine. You may encounter this error both on the Netflix website as well as the mobile apps available on both Android and iOS. Simply follow the steps below to resolve this issue!

Step # 1: Refresh Your Wi-Fi System

It is entirely possible that your internet may suffer from a small hiccup. Negligible though it may be, Netflix can detect even the slightest of such events and display a notification stating that your internet is not working. Chances are, such a message will disappear in a few seconds. Once the error goes away, you can continue enjoying the streaming service like before. However, if the problem persists then you may need to do a couple of things.

Note that users of the in-home panoramic Wi-Fi system normally connect all of their devices to it. This may end up hogging all the bandwidth. A simple refresh is mostly enough to fix the problem. Next, if your internet is working properly for other websites, try refreshing the Netflix tab. You may even close your browser and restart it. Hopefully, the streaming service will become available.

Step # 2: Restart Your Internet Connection

If you’re unable to use Netflix on your Cox connection then try restarting your internet connection. It may be that the ping is a little high. Or there may be some network lag issues. Therefore, it is important to restart one’s internet connection to resolve possible internet connection problems.

You might think that your internet speeds have been purposefully slowed down due to a billing dispute involving Cox hidden fees or something similar. But this may not always be the case.

Usually, Cox will notify you of any change in its payment plans or suspension of service. It is possibly due to a small issue that you can easily resolve by restarting the internet. Once done, simply refresh the Netflix tab and you’ll be able to stream without any worries!

Step # 3: Keep an Eye on Data Caps

Be aware of the amount of data you are consuming on your package. Netflix provides users with the ability to stream in HD. If you’re watching something in high definition you will end up consuming your data in no time at all. Make sure that you keep an eye on your metered bandwidth connection. If you consume all of it, then Netflix may display the “not connected” error.

Also, make sure to be on time with regard to cox bill pay issues. You do get the chance to do a one-time payment with Cox. If you take advantage of this, you can enjoy uninterrupted internet for as long as it is valid!

Step # 4: Close Your Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Take care that you are not using a VPN service on your internet subscription package. The reason is that you can’t operate Netflix on VPNs. The is usually because the application does not support most VPNs.

Therefore, you will usually not be able to use the streaming service if you have connected to one. Simply disable the VPN service. Next, connect your device to the internet again and restart Netflix. Once done, you will be able to enjoy smooth streaming services once more!

Step # 5: Call your ISP

If none of the above fixes work then you must call your trustworthy internet provider, such as Cox, to conduct a thorough investigation of the matter. Normally, such issues only occur during peak hour times when the traffic is very high. Even in such cases, you can try restarting your internet, restarting your browser, getting rid of the Virtual Private Network, checking data caps, or restarting your Wi-Fi connection to fix the problem.

Most of the time, you can easily fix it yourself. As a last resort, get a proper diagnosis of all the underlying issues if the connection issue persists. You can do this by calling your internet provider!
